Helensburgh Tigers To Tackle Breast Cancer

HELENSBURGH Tigers Rugby League Football Club is holding a fundraising event to benefit the Joanne MacKay Breast Cancer Foundation.
For the first time, the Tigers will swap their traditional black and orange jerseys for black and pink at their last home game of the 2007 Illawarra Carlton League season against Corrimal at Rex Jackson Oval on Saturday.The Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation was set up in memory of Joanne Mackay who passed away from breast cancer and was the wife of former St George, Illawarra, St George Illawarra, NSW and Australian rugby league player, Brad Mackay.The foundation helps breast cancer patients in their day-to-day lives by providing assistance in paying urgent bills, arranging medical treatment, child care, transportation, domestic help and spiritual guidance.In addition, D-Band will make their inaugural appearance at the Helensburgh Workmen's Club and entertain the crowd with a mixture of blues and rock 'n' roll.D-Band are donating their services and the $10 entry fee will also benefit the Joanne MacKay Foundation.To support this worthy charity, the Tigers are asking businesses to provide items that may be used as auction or raffle prizes.The Joanne Mackay Foundation is a registered charity and any donation more than $2 is tax deductible.To pledge support, please phone Tigers representatives John Doherty on 0433054586 or Geoff Wood on 0404861658.
